Inferno was inspired by the devastation caused by wildfire in the mountains of Colorado in 2020. Anyone who lives in Colorado, or anywhere else affected by wildfires knows the terrifying level of power and destruction involved. On the front range there were many days the sun was nearly blacked out, leaving the world in a constant state of dusk. The light was orange or red, and in many areas the massive fires could be seen from big towns and cities. It truly felt like an apocalyptic event on a primal level. The fires left expansive areas of desolation, and it will take hundreds of years before the land heals fully.

Inferno captures the raw horror and destruction of the fires, and reminds the listener that fire is a necessary part of the ecological process. Fire destroys dead old growth and makes room for new life.

When we are in the fire in our lives, we often need to be reminded that life finds a way, and many times it is better to let things go and rebuild from the ashes.
